Baseball Recap: Wallington Find Success

Wallington won the last time they faced Bergen Charter and things went their way on Monday too. The Panthers came out on top against Bergen Charter by a score of 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Tyler Perry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 14 Ks.

At the plate, Alex Syby was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Wallington's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Eddie Tanderis also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win got Wallington back to even at 3-3. As for Bergen Charter, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Wallington will challenge Wood-Ridge at 4:15 a.m. on Wednesday. Bergen Charter has already played their next match (against Harrison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
