Baseball Game Preview: O'Connor Panthers vs. Brennan Bears

The O'Connor Panthers will take on the Brennan Bears at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.

O'Connor is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Brennan on Wednesday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears.

Ryan Mason was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Mason wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rudy Perez, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

The victory (which was Brennan's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for O'Connor, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
