Softball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Daleville's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Daleville barely beat Delta the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Broncos put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 14-6 victory on Saturday. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Miley Womack was incredible, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Valyn Pattengale was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Daleville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matches.

Daleville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Delta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.

Daleville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against Yorktown on the 10th. Hopefully Delta paid attention to the Broncos' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Broncos at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
