Waterloo and Springfield are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Vikings will be taking part in a tournament against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

McDonald hit Springfield with a six-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers lost 16-3 to the Blue Devils.

Springfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Giuliana Battaglini, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Zoe Peng also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Waterloo's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.

Waterloo came out on top in a nail-biter against Springfield in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
