Vanguard College Prep suffers fourth straight loss on the road

Recap: Vanguard College Prep Vikings vs. Covenant Knights

The Vanguard College Prep Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 54-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Covenant. While losing is never fun, Vanguard College Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 953rd, while Covenant is ranked 435th).

Covenant got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Wyatt Webb out in front who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Webb has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Everett Webb, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Vanguard College Prep dropped their record down to 9-10 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Covenant, their win bumped their record up to 17-6.

Vanguard College Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on All Saints Episcopal at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Covenant, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brook Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
