Basketball Recap: Wausa Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Neligh-Oakdale came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Wausa, but Reagan Gillilan wouldn't allow it. The Wausa Vikings were the clear victor by a 48-28 margin over the Neligh-Oakdale Warriors on Tuesday thanks in part to Gillilan, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Those 17 points gave her a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Neligh-Oakdale had strong showings from Jaycee Gadeken, who posted 13 points and eight steals, and Jaquelin Luna-Duran, who put up seven points in addition to six boards and six steals. With that strong performance, Luna-Duran is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.

The victory made it two in a row for Wausa and bumps their season record up to 5-7. As for Neligh-Oakdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.

Wausa will challenge Randolph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wausa is facing Randolph at the right time seeing as Randolph is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. Neligh-Oakdale has already played their next game (against Humphrey-Lindsay), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
