Volleyball Game Preview: Norfolk Christian Ambassadors vs. Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks

The Norfolk Christian Ambassadors are taking a road trip to square off against the Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Norfolk Christian got the win against Walsingham Academy by a conclusive 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ambassadors.

While Norfolk Christian won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-17, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Norfolk Collegiate got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They came out on top against Hampton Roads Academy by a score of 3-1.

While Norfolk Collegiate might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Hampton Roads Academy scored at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 23-25, 25-23, 25-21.

Norfolk Christian now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Norfolk Collegiate, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-11.

Norfolk Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Norfolk Collegiate in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ambassadors since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
