Basketball Recap: Hannibal Takes a Loss

If Hannibal was feeling good fresh off their 66-25 takedown of Moberly last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hannibal Pirates took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jefferson City Jays on Thursday. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Jays from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Hannibal has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for Jefferson City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-13.

Hannibal wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-39 defeat against Monroe City on the 8th. As for Jefferson City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 91-34 victory against Lutheran on the 8th.
