Grosse Ile and Riverview are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Red Devils will venture away from home to square off against the Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Grosse Ile and 13 for Riverview.

Grosse Ile came up short against Huron on Monday, falling 23-6.

Sam Weise made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season.

St. Mary Catholic Central hit Riverview with a four-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pirates lost 9-2 to the Falcons/Kestrels.

Riverview saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Minnick, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Grosse Ile's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Riverview, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.

Grosse Ile might still be hurting after the 8-1 loss they got from Riverview in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
