Basketball Game Preview: NSU University Sharks vs. West Boca Raton Bulls

The NSU University Sharks will venture away from home to take on the West Boca Raton Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (NSU University has four straight wins, West Boca Raton has 17 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

NSU University will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Marathon, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. NSU University strolled past Marathon with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 65-46. The Sharks pushed the score to 57-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Dolphins cut but never quite recovered from.

NSU University's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Giselle Grant, who posted 20 points and three steals. The match was Grant's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenna Cohen-Osceola, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds.

Meanwhile, West Boca Raton came up short against Atlantic on Tuesday and fell 51-39.

NSU University will need focus on slowing down Sophia Krefsky, one of several West Boca Raton players who made an impact when they last played. She earned 15 points. What's more, Krefsky also racked up two rebounds, the most she's had since back in December of 2023.

West Boca Raton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for NSU University, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: NSU University hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 56 points per game.
