Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Central Flashes vs. Plainfield Quakers

The Franklin Central Flashes are taking a road trip to face off against the Plainfield Quakers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Plainfield will be up against a hot Franklin Central team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Franklin Central took down Avon 58-41 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Plainfield entered their tilt with Franklin Community on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Grizzly Cubs 73-44. The Quakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Plainfield is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Franklin Central, they pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Franklin Central didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Plainfield in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 41-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Franklin Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
