Softball Recap: Kennedy Wins Going Away Against Ocean View

Kennedy won the last time they faced Ocean View and things went their way on Friday too. The Fighting Irish blew past the Seahawks 14-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Fighting Irish.

Natalie Headley was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Sydney Batalon was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Kennedy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 11.6.

Kennedy's record now sits at 9-14. As for Ocean View, they dropped their record down to 2-20 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Kennedy will host Garden Grove at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Ocean View, they will venture away from home to face off against Fullerton at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
