Softball Recap: Lakeland Comes Up Short

Lakeland managed to slip by Moscow the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hawks lost 26-10 to the Bears on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 2, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Jaiden Corbey was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Ada Blakemore was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Lakeland's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Moscow, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-11.

Looking ahead, Lakeland will face off against Lewiston at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bengals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Moscow, they will take on Post Falls at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
