San Ramon Valley proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the California Grizzlies 3-1. This was payback for the Wolves, who suffered a 9-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lila McLeod spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up eight Ks. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, San Ramon Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Neighbor, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

San Ramon Valley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-1-1 record this season. California's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
