Football Recap: Brodhead/Juda Comes Up Short

Brodhead/Juda extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a blow against the River Valley Blackhawks, falling 42-12. The Cardinals lost against the Blackhawks in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 22-20 score last time.

As for River Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1. 42 seems to be a good number for them as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Leading River Valley to victory were Lucas Klein and Ty Larson. Klein threw for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight passes, while Larson rushed for 152 yards on only ten carries. Those 152 rushing yards gave Larson a new career-high.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Brodhead/Juda will challenge rival Dodgeville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, River Valley is set to square off against their familiar foe Prairie du Chien at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
