Baseball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Fairfield's offense. They lost 7-0 to the Bermudian Springs Eagles on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Fairfield got a good showing from Eddie Eichenlaub, who tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits Eichenlaub has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Fairfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Bell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Bermudian Springs, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield will head out to face off against York Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bermudian Springs, they will venture away from home to take on Delone Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Squires will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
