Soccer Game Preview: McGuffey vs. Elizabeth Forward

McGuffey is 0-5 against Elizabeth Forward since September of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Highlanders will square off against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Elizabeth Forward better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if McGuffey's game on Thursday is any indication, that's when McGuffey really gets things going. The Highlanders never let South Allegheny get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for McGuffey in their matchups with South Allegheny: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Elizabeth Forward made sure to put some goals up on the board against South Allegheny on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Gladiators with a sharp 6-1 win. Given Elizabeth Forward's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 146th, while South Allegheny are ranked 386th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

McGuffey's record now sits at 9-3. As for Elizabeth Forward, their record is now 7-4.
