Recap: Carrollton Trojans vs. Walton Raiders

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Carrollton Trojans can now relate to. They suffered a tough 56-35 loss at the hands of the Raiders on Friday. Carrollton's defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Carrollton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kimauri Farmer, who rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns, and Julian Lewis who threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns. Lewis is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played.

Walton had a senior duo take command as Jeremy Hecklinski threw for 370 yards and three touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes and Makari Bodiford gained 141 total yards and four touchdowns. Hecklinski has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Teal, who picked up 73 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Another reason for the win was Walton's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Justin Krueger was especially locked on to Carrollton's QB and sacked him three times.

Carrollton's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Walton, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Carrollton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Walton will be playing in front of their home fans against Camden County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Camden County: 16.8, Walton: 14.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
