Softball Game Preview: Green Sea Floyds Trojans vs. Hannah-Pamplico Raiders

Green Sea Floyds is 1-9 against Hannah-Pamplico since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Green Sea Floyds will look to defend their home field against Hannah-Pamplico at 6:00 p.m. Green Sea Floyds' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Hannah-Pamplico's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Friday, Green Sea Floyds didn't have quite enough to beat Latta and fell 2-1. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Green Sea Floyds saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ali Elliott, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double was Elliott's first of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hannah-Pamplico). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Carvers Bay an 11-0 shutout on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Raiders as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Hannah-Pamplico got a big performance out of Chloe Cooper, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Cooper has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Avant, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Hannah-Pamplico was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Hannah-Pamplico's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Green Sea Floyds, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-5.

Green Sea Floyds suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Hannah-Pamplico in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Green Sea Floyds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
