Softball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

Mitchell lost against Draughn last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Mitchell lost 19-7 to Draughn. The Mountaineers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zaiden Ayers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Olivia Ollis was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Mitchell's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Draughn, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.

Mitchell has already played their next game, a 14-6 defeat against Erwin on the 28th. As for Draughn, they will take on Owen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
