Baseball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for South Salem

South Salem barely beat Mountain View the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Saxons put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 20-1 win on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Saxons, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kellen Bowman tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Teagan Scott was incredible, firing off two home runs, five runs, and seven RBI while going 4-for-4. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.4 runs per game. Noah Scharer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

South Salem lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The victory keeps South Salem at an undefeated 6-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 13.5 runs this season. As for Mountain View, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

South Salem will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair will be back at it again later today.
