Soccer Game Preview: Skutt Catholic vs. Blair

The Skutt Catholic SkyHawks will square off against the Blair Bears at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Blair will be up against a hot Skutt Catholic team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. The SkyHawks put the hurt on Platteview with a sharp 5-2 win on Saturday. Maura Ausman was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Blair faced Bennington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bears blew past the Badgers 6-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Skutt Catholic's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those five games. As for Blair, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2.
