Basketball Recap: Corona Piles Up the Points Against O'farrell Charter

Corona meant business on Friday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Falcons squad that has allowed just 28.36 points per contest. The Corona Panthers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the O'Farrell Charter Falcons 58-20. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Corona got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isabella Acosta out in front who posted ten points and six steals. Those six steals gave Acosta a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Flores, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Despite the loss, O'Farrell Charter still got an impressive performance from Ty'Reiona WashingTon, who had 11 points.

Corona has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for O'Farrell Charter, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4.

Corona wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-44 victory against Holy Names Academy on the 28th. As for O'Farrell Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 39-20 loss against Canyon Hills on the 28th.
