Preview: Excel Christian Academy Spartans vs. McKeel Academy Wildcats
The Excel Christian Academy Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the McKeel Academy Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Excel Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully McKeel Academy likes a good challenge.
On Tuesday, Excel Christian Academy didn't have too much trouble with Tenoroc on the road as they won 60-46. Given Excel Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Tenoroc is ranked 736th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, McKeel Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 70-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sebring. McKeel Academy has not had much luck with Sebring recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Excel Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for McKeel Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.
Excel Christian Academy was taken down by McKeel Academy 71-32 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Excel Christian Academy was down 45-19.
