Basketball Game Preview: Plainfield Central Wildcats vs. Naperville North Huskies

Plainfield Central is 1-7 against Naperville North since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Plainfield Central Wildcats will take on the Naperville North Huskies at 2:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Plainfield Central will bounce into Saturday's matchup after beating Plainfield East, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Plainfield Central came out on top against Plainfield East by a score of 55-48 on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Naperville North beat Naperville Central 64-55 on Friday.

Plainfield Central's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 3-19. As for Naperville North, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-13 record this season.

Plainfield Central came up short against Naperville North when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 59-55. Can Plainfield Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
