Softball Recap: Southwest Christian School Takes a Loss

Southwest Christian School has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.48 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the John Paul II Cardinals, falling 10-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost three in a row.

Southwest Christian School saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lara Langford, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Southwest Christian School's loss dropped their record down to 18-6-1. As for John Paul II, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 24-2.

Southwest Christian School and John Paul II should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Eagles will challenge Grace Community at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (228 vs. 805). Meanwhile, John Paul II (ranked 26th) will meet Dallas HSAA Red (ranked 636th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Cardinals' favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while the Blue Angels have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
