Softball Recap: Madison-Grant Takes a Loss

Yorktown hit Madison-Grant with a five-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Argylls fell 12-7 to the Tigers. The defeat continues a trend for the Argylls in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Johnna Hiatt led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with one home run. Mae Ricks was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Madison-Grant's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Yorktown, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Madison-Grant will venture away from home to face off against Fort Wayne Northrop at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Yorktown, they will square off against Pendleton Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
