Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Elk Rapids). They put the hurt on the Charlevoix Rayders with a sharp  29-8 win on Thursday. Considering the Elks have won 18 matches by more than seven  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
Elk Rapids let  Haleigh Yocom and  Brooke Fluty run wild. Yocom  got on base  in four of her six plate appearances with one  home run, four  runs,  and two  stolen bases, while  Fluty  went 4-for-5 with four  runs, two  stolen bases,  and three  RBI. That's the most  stolen bases  Fluty has posted  over her last 12  contests. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ashley McCann, who  went 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Elk Rapids was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Charlevoix only posted a  batting average of  .350.
Elk Rapids has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 19 of their last 20 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Charlevoix,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Elk Rapids will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rayders: the pair will be back at it again later today.
