Football Recap: Hamilton Falls to Mitchell in First Game of Season

Hamilton had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 44-0 loss at the hands of the Mitchell Tigers. The Wildcats have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

A big part of Mitchell's victory came down to the chemistry between Raoul Jones and his top target Julius Drain. Jones threw for 112 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 75% of his passes while Drain picked up 66 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Those 66 receiving yards gave Drain a new career-high.

Hamilton and Mitchell could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. The Wildcats will square off against Montgomery Bell Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (303 vs. 17). Meanwhile, Mitchell (ranked 213th) will meet Lewisburg (ranked 92nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
