Volleyball Game Preview: Skyline Falcons vs. Horizon Hawks

The Skyline Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Horizon Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Skyline came up short against Golden and fell 2-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Demons: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Horizon also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Erie by a score of 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 24-26, 25-18, 25-21.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Horizon, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Skyline has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 11.1 aces per game. However, it's not like Horizon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Skyline couldn't quite get it done against Horizon in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Hawks' Reese Hudson, who had nine digs and seven aces. Now that the Falcons know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
