Volleyball Recap: Key West Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

There's no place like home for Key West, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Palm Beach Gardens Gators on Friday. This was payback for the Conchs, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Key West took both sets by at least 17 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-7.

Gabrielle Garcia paced Key West's offense, picking up six kills. Garcia got some help from Adriana Heinrichs and her 12 assists. Molly McKnight controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Key West pushed their record up to 1-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Palm Beach Gardens, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Key West didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Spanish River on the 23rd. As for Palm Beach Gardens, they will venture away from home to face off against Royal Palm Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
