Holmes and Perquimans pushed the score to 9-0 the last time they played Perquimans, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Aces never let the Pirates get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. The victory was nothing new for Holmes as they're now sitting on three straight.

Peyton Mattera and Jack Privette scored both of Holmes' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 21 goals.

Holmes' win bumped their record up to 13-5-3. As for Perquimans, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12-2 record this season.

Holmes will head out to challenge Cape Hatteras at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Perquimans, they will welcome Bear Grass Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
