Basketball Recap: Westinghouse Takes a Loss

If Westinghouse was feeling good fresh off their 61-37 takedown of Gaynor last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Westinghouse Warriors were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 62-61 to the Bedford Academy Panthers. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Westinghouse's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3. As for Bedford Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Westinghouse will square off against Robeson Business Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Westinghouse's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Bedford Academy has already played their next match, a 94-58 defeat against Achievement First on the 11th.
