Lakewood had to settle for second on Friday, but Katie Krueger sure wasn't going down easily. Krueger wasn't messing around, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off 12 hits (and only one walk). The pitching appearance was her third straight with one or fewer walks.

Krueger and Lakewood will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Marysville Getchell at 4:00 p.m. on April 8.
