Baseball Recap: Perrysburg Comes Up Short

Perrysburg has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.52 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They fell just short of the Lakota West Firebirds by a score of 10-9. The Yellow Jackets just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Brayden Heitmeyer and Lucas Graham stepped up to the plate in a big way. Heitmeyer went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base, while Graham got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Another player making a difference was Landon Winters, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Perrysburg's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Lakota West, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perrysburg will head out to face off against Bryan at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakota West, they will venture away from home to challenge Springboro at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
