Softball Recap: Larkin Royals vs. West Aurora Blackhawks

Larkin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Aurora Blackhawks. That's two games in a row now that the Royals have lost by just one run.

Mackenzie Wemken was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Wemken was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Ali Herrick was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Larkin's record is now 10-14. As for West Aurora, they pushed their record up to 15-14 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
