Softball Recap: Prattville's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Prattville had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Hillcrest Patriots with a sharp 8-2 victory on Tuesday. The Lions not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 13th.

Kaytie Chandler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tenley Tyner, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. MadyCate Lindsey was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

The win got Prattville back to even at 8-8. As for Hillcrest, they dropped their record down to 9-11-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Prattville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
