Softball Game Preview: Owensboro Catholic Aces vs. Butler County Bears

The Owensboro Catholic Aces will head out to square off against the Butler County Bears at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Owensboro Catholic has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 3rd.

Things were looking good for Owensboro Catholic after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Owensboro by a score of 7-6.

Lily Logsdon was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Tyranda Stuart also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Butler County made easy work of Breckinridge County on Thursday and carried off an 8-2 win. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Fighting Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Owensboro Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Butler County, their win bumped their record up to 7-16.

Owensboro Catholic skirted past Butler County 7-6 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aces since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
