Soccer Game Preview: Malibu vs. Nordhoff

The Malibu Sharks are taking a road trip to square off against the Nordhoff Rangers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Malibu's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Malibu came up short against Fillmore on Friday, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 587th, while the Flashes are ranked 183rd).

Meanwhile, Nordhoff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 6-3 to Channel Islands.

Malibu's loss dropped their record down to 4-4-2. As for Nordhoff, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11-1.

Everything went Malibu's way against Nordhoff in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Malibu made off with a 4-1 victory. In that game, Malibu amassed a halftime lead of 3-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
