Softball Recap: Orofino Wins Going Away Against Kellogg

Orofino won the last time they faced Kellogg and things went their way on Friday too. The Maniacs put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 25-4 win. Considering the Maniacs have won ten matches by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Taylor Burrowes was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Livia Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

Orofino always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Orofino and bumps their season record up to 12-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Kellogg, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Looking ahead, Orofino will challenge St. Maries at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Maniacs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lumberjacks have averaged an impressive 12.1 runs per game this season. Kellogg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
