Basketball Recap: Joseph City Takes a Loss

Joseph City's tournament run continued when they took on Monument Valley on Thursday. The Wildcats took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Joseph City lost, don't look at Eli James. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 16 points and 17 rebounds. James is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cort Miller, who posted 14 points and five boards.

Joseph City's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Monument Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Coincidentally, Joseph City and Monument Valley will both be playing Round Valley the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Elks at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Mustangs will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
