Pomperaug's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-33 victory over the Bethel Wildcats. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Jack Guinipero had a dynamite game, rushing for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Despite the loss, Bethel still got an impressive performance from Thomas Bornn, who rushed for 27 yards and three TDs. Kaden Islami helped out on the ground, rushing for 132 yards.

The win got Pomperaug back to even at 2-2. As for Bethel, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Pomperaug and Bethel will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Panthers see the field they'll take on Joel Barlow at 6:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Bethel, their break will end when they face New Milford at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
