Softball Recap: St. Francis Takes a Loss

St. Francis was the 7-5 winner over Sheldon when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The St. Francis Troubadours fell just short of the Sheldon Huskies by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Troubadours have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Francis saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kinsley Imm, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI Imm has posted since back in March of 2024. Jaeya Leavitt also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

St. Francis' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Sheldon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Francis will head out to take on Pioneer at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pioneer's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so St. Francis' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sheldon, they will head out on the road to square off against Del Oro at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Del Oro will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Sheldon surely won't give up without a fight.
