Basketball Recap: Brookeland Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Victory

Brookeland entered their tilt with Spurger on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They claimed a resounding 94-54 win over the Spurger Pirates. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 52-21.

Brookeland was led to victory by Landon Smith and Cade Morgan. Smith shot 5-for-9 from long range and dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten assists, while Morgan dropped a double-double on 32 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was Smith's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Bennett, who went 8 for 12 en route to 17 points and six boards.

Brookeland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 30 consecutive matchups.

Defeat or not, Spurger got some senior leadership from Landon Heim and Kade Ford. Heim posted 16 points, while Ford put up 13 points.
