Basketball Game Preview: Moffat County Bulldogs vs. Rifle Bears

The Moffat County Bulldogs will face off against the Rifle Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Moffat County and five for Rifle.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-43, which was the final score in Moffat County's tilt against Delta on Saturday.

Despite the loss, Moffat County had strong showings from Kenyen Camilletti, who posted 11 points and five assists, and Jr Welch, who put up nine points in addition to eight steals and seven rebounds. With that strong performance, Welch is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Logan Reidhead also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Rifle came up short against Basalt on Saturday and fell 73-66.

Moffat County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Rifle, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.

Everything came up roses for Moffat County against Rifle in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 66-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Moffat County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
