Softball Recap: Benjamin Russell's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Benjamin Russell didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-19-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Sylacauga Aggies on Friday as the Benjamin Russell Wildcats made off with a 13-3 win. The contest marked the Wildcats' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Arionna Ware was a standout: she scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Averee Vick was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Benjamin Russell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sylacauga onlymanaged three hits.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs over those games. As for Sylacauga, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benjamin Russell will challenge Wetumpka at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sylacauga, they will face off against Tallassee at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
