Basketball Game Preview: Grant Union Prospectors vs. Irrigon Knights

Grant Union is 2-7 against Irrigon since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Grant Union Prospectors will square off against the Irrigon Knights at 3:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Grant Union is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 62-42 to Powder Valley.

Meanwhile, Irrigon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They fell 46-35 to Pilot Rock. One positive for the Knights, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Grant Union's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Irrigon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

Grant Union came up short against Irrigon in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 51-40. Can Grant Union avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
