Softball Game Preview: Montgomery County Indians vs. Paul Laurence Dunbar Bulldogs

The Montgomery County Indians will venture away from home to face off against the Paul Laurence Dunbar Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Montgomery County will head out to face Paul Laurence Dunbar after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. The Indians took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bryan Station. Surprisingly, this marked the Indians' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Lilliana Hill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Addison Rodgers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Paul Laurence Dunbar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 11-1 to Frankfort.

Paul Laurence Dunbar's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Montgomery County, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 9-3.

Everything went Montgomery County's way against Paul Laurence Dunbar when the teams last played back in April of 2023, as Montgomery County made off with a 15-0 victory. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
