Basketball Recap: West Port's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

West Port had to endure a 15-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 50-35 win over the Belleview Rattlers on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolf Pack also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Belleview lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Anthony Klima, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Al Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

West Port's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Belleview, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

West Port and Lake Weir will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Belleview, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Meadowbrook Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
