Softball Recap: Romeo Bulldogs vs. Utica Chieftains
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Romeo nor Utica made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Bulldogs walked away with a 7-2 win over the Chieftains. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Chieftains recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Katie Murphy looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Romeo let Sarah Jesperson and Bailey Anton run wild. Jesperson went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Anton went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
